MY STORY
I'm a registered music therapist and mental health practitioner, and my work is rooted in supporting people through both the complex and the everyday parts of being human.
Over the years, I've worked in psychiatric hospitals, pediatric medical settings, and multidisciplinary therapeutic spaces. These experiences have shaped how I show up in my work - with care, steadiness, and deep respect for each person's story.
I hold a Master's Degree in Music Therapy, along with several years of psychology training, and I am registered with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA).
Qualifications: BA Music & Psychology (University of Pretoria), BA(Hons) in Music Communications (University of Pretoria), MMus Music Therapy (University of Pretoria)
HPCSA Number: AT 000 1554

HOW I WORK?
At the heart of my work is creating a space where you can feel safe, supported, and not rushed. My approach is grounded in psychological understanding, emotional regulation, and trauma-informed care. This means I pay close attention to how people experience stress, overwhelm, and emotion - and work gently, at a pace that feels manageable.
Whether I am working with children, adults, corporate, or families, my intention is to help you feel more regulated, more supported, and better able to navigate what life is asking of you.

MY EXPERIENCE
I've worked with individuals facing complex mental health challenges, as well as children and families in special needs settings.
Much of this work has taken place in environments where emotions run high and supported is deeply needed. It's taught me the importance of being both grounded and flexible - offering structure where it helps, and space where it's needed.

BEYOND ONE-ON-ONE WORK
In addition to individual therapy, I've facilitated caregiver support groups, mental health workshops, and professional development sessions.
I'm trained in trauma-informed care and the Mandala Assessment Research Instrument (MARI), and I am currently completing my Guided Imagery and Music (GIM) training, which I offer in a carefully supported and ethical framework.

SINGATHA CENTRE
I am also the founder and director of Singatha Centre, a specialised school for neurodivergent children.
This work is very close to my heart. It allows me to collaborate with a team of speech therapists, occupational therapists, and other allied professionals, all working together to support each child in a way that feels inclusive, thoughtful, and developmentally appropriate.
A PERSONAL NOTE
Alongside being a clinician, I'm also a mother - which means I understand, in a very real way, the demands, stress, and emotional load that life can bring.
Because of this, I approach my work with a strong sense of practicality and empathy. I don't believe in one-size-fits-all solutions - only in meeting people where they are, and supporting them in a way that feels realistic and respectful.
